Soul Sister

Cassie and Mark

Sad days always seem untimely yet we recognize how incredible someone is to us after they pass.  Such a morbid reality to know a family member passes away and holes that were filled by your “loved one” that seemed unnoticed, break apart and send out memories, and pain, and all sorts of uncontrollable feelings onto the world.  There is no replacing Cassie Lind Langstaff.  Her teachings were so far reaching that I had forgotten, in some cases, how incredibly influential she was.  Like how I grew up wanting to have the same rock/folk/pop voice that nobody in my family could ever emulate.  I grew up wanting to be as free as her on stage.  I knew if I had an someone as beautiful, as caring, as understanding as my aunt Cass, I would never be alone on stage or ever feel unimportant.  She defined how being in the ensemble meant as much if not more than being the lead.  Cassie Lind Langstaff defines how the greatest tragedies in life will only be tragedies if you fail to live life in a way that makes you happy.  She always made me happy.
